It was raining, so I couldn't even go play frisbee golf.
I sat in the apartment and read books, comics, and watched anime.
I also cooked up some really yummy beets.
beets are yummy, beets are great!
Take a pound of beets, chop em up coarsely in a food processor, or just grate them coarsely if you have the patience.
Two large shallots. Either food processed or sliced into slivers.
1 green chille
1/2 tsp of mustard seeds. (i used brown)
salt, water, olive oil, lemon juice.
heat the oil in a large frying pan (just enough oil to saute the shallots)
when the oil is hot, toss in the mustard seeds.
when the mustard seeds start to pop (about 5-10 seconds), toss in the shallots and the chille, and saute for 30 seconds to a minute (the shallots should be getting brown).
toss in the beets and mix thoroughly.
add 1/2 cup of hot water, 1 tsp of salt and bring to a boil.
Turn down to a simmer, cover, and let cook for 10 minutes. (if it's still really wet after 5-6 mins, cook for a bit with the top off to reduce it.)
Add 1 Tbsp lemon juice, stir to mix well, turn heat up, and serve when it gets nice and warm.
(I made rice to go with it.)
now I'm listening to Paul Van Dyk and typing an LJ entry, while being pissed that Kenshin episode 19 won't download fast enough for me to watch tonight. I have 20 and 21 already, but 19 just won't come damnit!
