being a relative noob to freebsd...
the openssh patch that was released today, (see slashdot if you haven't heard) is there any way for me to update that without waiting for a port to come out?
Also, ports=source code? or is that not true... cause I couldn't locate buffer.c in the openshh folder of the ports tree. I was going to just manually put in the diffs and recompile, but I couldn't.

Hmm you may see if the source is avalible for bsd.
Also could you install screen on that machine as well?
Heh .. sorry for the requests .. just I'm too used to Linux with tons of tools already installed.
I'll see about screen, never even heard of it. ^_^
the source isn't available yet, the patch was just made public today.

screen is a console util .. pretty much allows you to have multiple consoles going in the background.
yeah, I read up on it. looks like it just got done installing, go play. :o)
looks like you have to run /usr/local/bin/screen
for some reason it ain't just pulling that path if you just type "screen".
sorry about the sudden reboot, just patched openssh. should have given you warning, I wasn't thinking. ^_^
