Um, so yeah.
If you haven't seen prosicated's post, we're moving to Boston.
I can't say I'm not scared.
excited, but scared.
oh, and we survived the wandering bands of malls.
mood: too many.
welcome to the wonderful world of "moving to far-off, unexplored lands", bro. enjoy. treat it as a new experience in life, and take from it the good things you can. i can't say i'm not happy to be finally moving back home after such an adventure, but i think my life is better off having had the experience of moving to and adjusting to a completely different area. think of it this way: at least *you* will be no more than a 5 hour drive from home. we were a 5 DAY drive from home... best of luck homeslice!
I am excited, Boston seems like a cool city, and I need to get my ass out of Philly. I've lived around here my whole life.
it's just... rent up there is insane. having trouble finding a 1br apartment for less than 1k. eep!
let me know if you need help unloading uhauls when you get here. you've got my e-mail.
I think I speak for both of us when I say we would love unloading help. We'll be in town this coming weekend -- by the 17th (saturday) or maybe before. Woot!
Good luck with the crazy scary apartment search.
ah. we have meg's brother here that weekend, but most likely I can come by, if not both of us. He got into Haverford, so we're gonna sit down and discuss. heh.
You have my/meg's cell? let me know when you figure out when you're appearing.

boston is one of the coolest cities ever.
you will need to become a red sox fan though.
i hope to live with tess in boston someday.
so... know of any tech jobs opening up around august? =D
i don't off hand... but i can give you some names and numbers of people. i keep in touch with a few recruiters so i know what and how the market is doing which i'm not searching etc... what sort of stuff you looking for? I can even ask around a bit...
well I do tech support at the moment, professionally qualified for deskside or phone support.
I'd like to be doing network/server administration, Linux idealy. I only have minimal professional experience with that though, an internship for a summer and some stuff I could talk up from current helldesk job.
any leads at all would be more than I gots now.
ill make a few phone calls tomorrow and see what the market is doing. i can also send you some names and numbers to the address listed in your LJ profile if you like...
well I'd totally appreciate anything, but I wouldn't be starting till august or september, and tech usually hires for now, not later.
Oh, e-mail ry (at) cybertrash (dot) net
even so, these are people who ive been in touch with over the past 3 or 4 years. so id imagine theyll still be around come august/september. could be worth talking to when you get up in this area...

here's an edited copy of what I said in prosicated's journal, cuz it applies to you too sweetie: "isn't it a huge relief to know what path your life will be taking in the immediate future, after so much uncertainty? Aren't you excited to explore a new city, new people, new ideas? Isn't it wonderful that [you are] going with [her]? (And isn't it great that [you]'ll get to leave the job [you] hate?) And didn't you two have a great time when you visited? And isn't it neat that Boston isn't very far from us here in Phila, and your family in [PA]? Isn't it exciting that you might buy a house up there? There's so much to be happy about! ... This is a period of change after a period of stasis, that will be followed by a period of stasis again -- so it goes! ... But Ry will be leaving my band. and I will miss very much having you both close by. (Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!)"
And I am and will be eternally grateful to you for playing music with me, no matter for how long. And prosicated mentions you'll be nearby to the recording studio i may be frequenting, and I'm sure there's good fun music for you to play with people in Bean Town!
Heya when are you going to boston!?!?!
i'm going to be there july through august :).
well, she's starting school in early september, so we're moving up before or around then.
there's a lot of figuring out that needs to happen before we'll have a date.
