We went to see what was possibly the most expensive art installation piece ever.
It was very cool.
Click Here to see all my pics (that I've darkroomed so far) from the event.
We decided that it was cool, but would have been better if the color weren't so damned precisely "safety orange."
ah well. shiny nonetheless.
Very neat-o pictures. The gates certainly add color to the winter landscape. But, yes, the artists could have picked a better shade. :)
that must have been interesting - i'm planning to go see that myself while it's there!
make sure you get there, it's only up until the 27th iirc.
Maybe it's just my lack of art knowledge coming out, but I don't get it.
it just is.
$21million worth of subverting/augmenting the status quo of central park.
The true artistic vision and subtext of the piece reads:
Christo has too much fucking money and doesn't know what to do with it all.

Dudes! You'll have to let me know next time yr in NYC, would like to meet up with ya.
Also, if you need a place to crash ever, hit us up.
awesome, thanks for the offer.
we were only in town for about 36 hours, and were meeting some friends from philly, so our time was more than spoken for, but we wanna meet up with you guys sometime too. ^_^
have you been to the park yet? it's pretty cool, and I imagine that it's even neater for a new yorker to see it all gussied up like that.
it's uhm very buddhist in its coloring... maybe there's a message in that :P.
