dad let me play with his insanely powerful 25mw green laser pointer. Um, very cool. You can see the entire beam easily, unlike the wussy 5mw red ones. You can point out stars with it. very very cool.
I've also come into posession of a native American axe head which my grandfather found on the banks of the Wissahickon creek when he was a youngster. It's being mailed to me, as I didn't want to risk trying to take it on the plane. photos of that will be posted. Also got all my grandfather's old cameras and equip. two old manual canons and a bunch of lenses for them. No one else wanted them, and I wasn't about to let them just get tossed, or auctioned off cheap. One of them has a strap with his name embroidered on it. odd that I feel closer to him after he died... I really miss him though.
Then comes the plane ride home.
Mom basically made the reservations for me, and neither of us noticed that the flight we thought was at 6:38 this morning, was actually a 6:48 PM flight.
I figured that out this morning at 4am on the way to the airport.
Luckily I managed to get the last standby seat on an 8am flight, and made it to work just a little later than I would have if I'd caught the right plane.
Ah well, all's well that ends well.
I really miss Meg.
