Looked up some coffee tables online, 18" is a perfectly normal height. Which gives me 12" of clearance underneath the shelf, which is plenty of space for legs my ruler tells me.
Thus, I give you coffee table rev 2.0

she wants stilts, I betcha.
and a wooden pony, and an army to fill it, and and and...
personally, I find irregular corners sticking out underneath tables to be a great nuisance, as on the half-shelf table you were proposing. I think this design is both pretty and functional.
Hi, I just wanted to apologize... I just figured out how to use the community and I put all of them into cuts. Very sorry!!
not the end of the world...
The community's intended for individuals to post classified type ads (says so in the user info), so please just keep the commercial stuff to a minimum. I don't mind local startup folks using it to say hi and get a little exposure, but I don't want it to become an advertising community.
I understand. Again sorry and thanks for understanding. I'm still trying to figure out all this stuff :-)
