Our old apartment on Rindge is about to open up again...
Great place, over 1000 sq foot in easy walking distance to Davis and Porter squares, rent was VERY reasonable for the size, and they haven't increased it all that much I don't think.
Nice high ceilings, a yard for grilling, basement storage.
Heating it in the winter's a bit pricey (oil) but I still miss that apartment sometimes. Very spacious and open feeling.

Drop me a note if you're looking, can put you in touch with the current residents and give you all the details.

Cons:
No off-street parking, might be negotiable with the landlords who live upstairs.
No laundry in building, but I believe there are hookups available in the basement if you want to add your own appliances.

Point away...
The landlords are an older couple who live upstairs, not going to be a Party friendly space, just as a note.

A coworker is looking for a new apt. Is it a 1BR or 2?

technically a 2-br, definitely works better as a 1-br though.
One's in the back of the apartment behind the kitchen, the other has pocket-doors to the main living room. You could leave the pocket-doors closed all the time and use it as a second bedroom, but it's far more ideal as a nice big apartment for a couple and use that room as a guest room occasionally.

Hrm. Well it is siblings that would be sharing it possibly. The house their apartment is in just burned down so um. yes.

Oh, huh, today at work someone sent around an email saying someone he knows is looking for a temporary place to stay because her apartment just burned down. I wonder if she's one of the same pair of siblings.

I know someone who's looking for a T-accessible place. She got a job at Brandeis and doesn't want to drive - Porter is great because there's a commuter rail from there to Brandeis that takes 15min. She has a cat. Does this apartment allow cats?
